Dr. Wendy Froberg, Psy.D, R.Psych.

Wendy FrobergWendy Froberg, Psy.D. ,has enjoyed a career spanning more than twenty-five years as a registered psychologist in Alberta. She has worked in various clinical settings including private practice, hospitals, schools, child protection, forensic and psychiatric.

She is a former assistant professor of Applied Psychology at the University of Calgary where she taught play therapy, a local/national/international presenter and frequent media commentator on any number of psychological topics.

For much of her career, Wendy specialized in the treatment of children and families. However, she has recently revised her practice to focus primarily on adults, particularly those in mid-life and beyond, who are experiencing major life transitions, losses and stressors. These include, but are not limited to, divorce, aging parents, the “empty nest”, retirement, physical ailments and death of loved ones.

Wendy also provides therapy to adults seeking to engage in deeper exploration in order to find meaning and purpose, as well as improved relationships, creativity and vitality, in the second half of life. Rather than focus on pathology or utilize an illness model for emotional distress, Wendy respects the mind-body connection and seeks to help clients identify and enhance their strengths and resources.

In addition to being a clinical psychologist, Wendy is also an actor and playwright who brings principles and techniques derived from the arts and applies them to her therapeutic work with clients.
